    In 1999, Steve Colvin purchased 41 acres of run-down farm in Bledsoe County, TN--fulfilling a life-long dream of raising his kids on his own farm. Known locally as the "old J. B. Swafford Farm," it had passed on to "J. B.'s" grandchildren who had it logged in 1996, and weren't interested in keeping the "old home-place."

    Steve and his boys fixed up the old farmhouse temporarily, and started clearing the fields back out. A large garden was started the first year, as was a new farmhouse. In 2003 with the fields back in shape, and the house almost finished, the decision was made to start marketing their Naturally Grown Vegetables as a CSA farm.

Over the next few years they made a name at local restaurants, grocery stores, and markets as producers of top quality, flavorful produce with friendly knowledgeable service.

In 2006 they became one of the first farms in Tennessee to participate in the Certified Naturally Grown program--adding consumer confidence to their already established natural methods.

Now becoming known locally as "Colvin Family Farm," the "old homeplace" again is an operating family farm.
