Community Supported Agriculture is basically the principle of pairing up local consumers who want fresh, local, organically raised food, with farmers who want a guaranteed outlet for their produce, with a fair return. A group or "community" of consumers supports a local farm by purchasing in advance, shares of that farm's next season's harvest. The farmer grows organic produce for this community and divides the harvest among shareholders. As a member you will enjoy this list of benefits:
What Are The Benefits?
* You receive a weekly share "box" filled with top quality produce! All produce is Certified Naturally Grown--raised without any synthetic chemical fertilizers, pesticides or herbicides!
* You receive a weekly newsletter providing updates on all farm activities!
* You get copies of our favorite recipes, Momma will make sure that you know how to use everything that you receive!
* You make a direct connection with our farm and family--You know where your food comes from!
* You support a local small farm, which in turn brings more money to local communities!
Besides receiving a weekly box of high-quality organically grown produce, shareholders also know that they're directly supporting a local farm. CSA's allow shareholders to re-establish a connection with the land that most people feel they've lost. To familiarize you with how your produce is raised, we will host days when you are invited to visit the farm and see first hand how your food is being produced. Recipes and other surprises will accompany your weekly baskets!
Large Shares consist of 6 weekly 1/2 bushel boxes of produce. Averages to only $28.00 per week! This size is recommended for families that have 3-4 people eating an "average" amount of vegetables.
Small Shares consist of 6 weekly 1/4 bushel boxes of produce. Averages to only $20.00 a week! This size is recommended for families that have 1-2 people eating an "average" amount of vegetables.
Fall Pickup Locations: First Planned Pickup Date-September 18th, 2010
